Graphite for Suppliers

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you’ll find answers to the questions we get asked the most about creating a supplier profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a supplier profile?

Unlike static Request For documents (RFx), a supplier profile is a living digital record of your business that can be continuously updated. It gathers data to help potential customers understand your approach, differentiators, and details of the products or services that you offer. Your supplier profile covers important information to help companies choose the best fit for their specific needs. In Graphite Connect, your profile can be regularly updated and lives in a central database that prospects can access for future procurement projects that are related to your offerings.

Why create a supplier profile in Graphite Connect?

Supplier profiles empower procurement experts to be even more efficient and strategic. Not only does a profile improve your visibility to potential customers, it allows you to manage and update your own information so it’s always accurate, saving you hours of manual paperwork. When you create a profile in Graphite, you have the potential to be discovered by thousands of businesses searching for exactly your products or services.

What is Graphite Connect?

Graphite Connect is a supplier management platform designed to streamline the entire procurement process from onboarding to risk management. The Graphite network is the backbone of our solution, offering a central, secure location where you can manage all of your data, tasks, and teams. Contracts and documents can be easily uploaded and organized in one place rather than trying to manage information dispersed across different spreadsheets and emails. Key supplier commercial data like TIN checking, OFAC, and W-9 forms is automatically validated within Graphite to drastically speed up onboarding so you’re ready to do business with new partners in days instead of months.

Why is my customer asking me to create a profile?

Creating a supplier profile is the fastest way to connect with organizations looking for the specific products or services that you offer. Once you’ve answered the survey questions and submitted the required documentation, with just one click you can effortlessly share your profile with as many prospects as you want. You don’t have to answer the same onboarding questions over and over again. All of the necessary information is securely stored in the Graphite network where you and your stakeholders can quickly access it when needed. Easily update your own information at any time, so any organization looking for your products or services can quickly narrow its search to find you.

How Secure is Graphite?

Graphite takes security very seriously and has implemented a range of measures to protect user data, mitigate fraud risks, and comply with industry security standards. For detailed information, see this page.

How long does it take to complete a supplier profile?

Responding to a request to complete your company’s Graphite profile varies depending on the questions the company requesting to connect requires. To speed up the process, we suggest having your tax and banking documents ready. If you’re asked to answer risk and compliance questions, the process will take longer, especially if you offer a variety of products or services.

Your Graphite profile can be completed in 30 minutes or less, but can take longer for complex organizations.

Suppliers who have previously joined Graphite and are connecting to another company may only need to certify previous answers. However, if new questions are required, you’ll only need to answer the additional questions and certify the previous answers.
